Fun Resource Friday
The direction of this newsletter has fluctuated so much and I APOLOGIZE, ok?
I want to compile some information and resources and just overall interesting things for you. Maybe you’ll use them. See Below:
Museo
I discovered Museo during my search for open access art. Many museums across the globe offer free downloads of open-source art. The pieces are mostly historical (before 1950) and contain photos of actual physical pieces (pottery, weavings, etc.) along with jpgs of the art.
Here is an example, in which I searched '“Care”
As you can see, the search pulls up a combination of physical items, sketches, and paintings. Once you click on a photo, it will open the source (actual museum) website in a new window.
Pexels
Pexels is my one-stop-shop for all stock photos and videos. It is free, though it does allow you to donate to the creator if you have the means. I often use the home page to get some inspiration, but the search feature works perfectly well!
Heritage Library
Heritage library is, in general, a place for purchasable digital resources. Most of these resources are labeled as “vintage,” including the free part. Heritage Library is most known for their free packages of vintage illustrations. I have downloaded many of these packages. They are quality designs that come in PNG and Vector formats.
Happy creating
